Great Backcountry Bag
Used this bad boy for two weeks in Japan. Probe, shovel and shovel handle fit perfectly in the front pocket. It’s really small and hangs onto your body well so you will likely be able to keep it on while riding lifts.
Heli pro 20L
Claims it has room for avalanche gear but it absolutely does not. If you have goggles in the goggle pouch you cannot remove your shovel handle or probe. Poor design
Technical pack
Technical pack. Not a lot of storage. Comfortable. Well constructed. Slim on the back.
Heli Pro 20L - Silver Lining
This is an awesome pack for both sidecountry skiing. I also use as my go to carry-on when flying.
Great back! Big enough but not being to bulky
Nice fitting backpack + well made
amazing
great product
Not happy
I recently ordered a 20L Heli backpack from Dakine …. After a few days I receive an email saying that they were out of stock and that they could not fill my order. I was disappointed at the time so I ordered one from another site and received it with in a week.
Comfortable
I am using this bag as a bike and ski patroller. It’s comfortable and i have enough space for my first aid kit and my personal stuffs. A great purchase!
Great Product
Impressed with my recent purchase! The sleek design, durability, and ample storage make the Heli Pro 20L Backpack a standout choice. Comfortable for extended wear, it’s ideal for any adventure. Highly recommend!
Killer product for your daily operations
Pack is a great option for either being slope side or daily commutes.

I don't understand how the horizontal snowboard carry works. I notice they call it an 'option' and don't use that term to describe the other types of carry. There's one picture here showing a horizontal snowboard, but they only show it from the front. I have an older version of the slightly bigger pack (24L) and that actually has a compartment and buckles to secure the board. That appears to also be missing from the newer 24L version too.
I have a Heli Pro 24 and I need to replace the elastic keepers (some lost some broken). Do you guys have a replacement kit?
How would this fit a five foot 12 year old
Looking at Dakine Heli Pro 20L.. few questions.. does it have pocket (by the waist strap) for IPhone? When its on me, where can I reach? There’s pocket for IPad or books? Is there cover for raining? Thanks!
Does this have a helmet carrier?
Does this pack have a pocket for a water bottle like the previous heli packs?
This pack does not but does accomodate a hydration system.
is there an opening for the hydration tube to come out through?
Hi Dave, There should be a VERY small opening on the upper right or top left of the pack, along the inside seam of the main compartment. You may have to turn the zipper slightly inside-out and feel for a slight "pen" sized opening. Please reach out to store@dakine.com for further assistance. Cheers, Dakine.com
